Moving to friendlier parts - Las Vegas Here We Come!

People will tell you that California is a great place to live. They are absolutely correct.  Its a great place to live and play and visit.  But if you're a small business owner it sure looks an awful lot like HELL on earth.

Last July we moved our business from Sunny So Cal to much more tax friendly Las Vegas.  And now, given the slide to the left of the California government last November, we've chosen to leave California and move full time to Las Vegas.

Las Vegas is a great place once you get off the strip.  The strip is like a circus. So many weird and wonderful things to see and do, but when you've lived there a while, it starts to smell of the monkey's and the elephants.  Its just not all that pleasant.  But once you get off the strip, its really a nice place filled with people who are midwest friendly and overall pretty accommodating all the way around.

So we're busting our butts to get the house ready to go on the market this March.  We plan to move over the summer, and I promised my wife that with the money we save, there will be enough to rent a beach house in Newport or Balboa each year for 3 or so weeks.

So, if you think that business and small business likes what is going on in California right now...you might want to get a checkup, cause while I'm not the last person left, I'm certainly not the first to leave. And commercial realestate is looking more and more like the empty skeleton buildings commonly discussed about Bejing after the Olympics....row after row of empty boxes...
